The Tech for Good Team

Background

Tech for Good New Zealand is a community bringing together the fields of social innovation and tech formed under the umbrella of the global network and non-profit TechSoup and Netsquared which brings together civil society and the technology community.

Formed in 2018, Tech for Good NZ has organically grown to over 700 members from across the social enterprise and nonprofit sector, tech and creative sector, local business and advocates for social impact.

We firmly believe this network has the potential to develop meaningful collaboration, partnerships and technology solutions to respond with technology enabled responses and solutions to support social challenges across NZ.

Strategy

What we do now

Bring together non profit sector, social enterprise and social impact initiatives with the technology sector, changemakers, foundations and businesses across NZ through thematic-based (both tech and social themes) regular and bespoke events.

What we would like to do

We see the potential for a more collaborative community which works together to respond to social challenges.  We would like to drive collaboration, discussion and inspire action across the social innovation and tech sector.

Provide a voice for social impact initiatives to identify their needs and share both the opportunities but also the strategic tech challenges they face.

Our vision is to:

  • Inspire & convene around tech for good initiatives, shared learning opportunities, and being the catalyst for people and organisations to connect together through inspiring community projects.

  • Connect people across sectors and drive collaboration. In particular connect organisations who have technology needs to individual experts or organisations who can help

  • Enable change and impact. Strengthen the ecosystem and develop a more proactive network that enables interaction across community networks and tech hubs.
