Community Manager
Join the Tech for Good NZ team! To enable the community to grow and become a valuable asset to NZ, we are seeking a part-time Community Manager to manage our community engagement across the Tech for Good channels - website, social media, MeetUp, direct mail, and events.
Background
Tech for Good New Zealand is a community bringing together the fields of social innovation and tech formed under the umbrella of the global network and non-profit TechSoup and Netsquared which brings together civil society and the technology community.
Formed in 2018, Tech for Good NZ has organically grown to over 700 members from across the social enterprise and nonprofit sector, tech and creative sector, local business and advocates for social impact.
We firmly believe this network has the potential to develop meaningful collaboration, partnerships and technology solutions to respond with technology enabled responses and solutions to support social challenges across NZ.

What we do now
Bring together non profit sector, social enterprise and social impact initiatives with the technology sector, changemakers, foundations and businesses across NZ through thematic-based (both tech and social themes) regular and bespoke events.
What we would like to do
We see the potential for a more collaborative community which works together to respond to social challenges. We would like to drive collaboration, discussion and inspire action across the social innovation and tech sector.
Provide a voice for social impact initiatives to identify their needs and share both the opportunities but also the strategic tech challenges they face.
Our vision is to:
Inspire & convene around tech for good initiatives, shared learning opportunities, and being the catalyst for people and organisations to connect together through inspiring community projects.
Connect people across sectors and drive collaboration. In particular connect organisations who have technology needs to individual experts or organisations who can help
Enable change and impact. Strengthen the ecosystem and develop a more proactive network that enables interaction across community networks and tech hubs.
Tech for Good NZ Community Manager
To enable the community to grow and become a valuable asset to NZ, we are seeking a part-time Community Manager to manage our community engagement across the Tech for Good channels - social media, MeetUp, direct mail, and events.
The Community Manager role will focus on sign-posting capability and, in summary, will include:
social media updates
updating the website
connecting individuals and/or organisations to each other
providing administrative support for the face to face events.
A Community Manager will be the central point of contact for managing the Tech for Good NZ network. This role will be very much supported by the organising team.
Key responsibilities:
Social media & community management
Support in creating the social and engagement strategy
Creating and maintaining an active social presence for Tech for Good NZ across Slack, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
Creating and sharing content
Managing & signposting requests from the community looking for projects and project support
Marketing & communications
Represent Tech for Good NZ at external networking events and meetings as and when required
Working with community figures and regional networks to promote projects, events and charities in the area
Events
Maintain calendars of events for public (website) and internal use and promote all events and trainings via online channels
Outreach to, and liaise with, speakers and sponsors
Manage event listings on Facebook, Meetup and Eventbrite
Manage room bookings/catering and be present to ensure successful event delivery
Gather general feedback and collate participant feedback forms from events
